What do I need to be able to take driving lessons?

You need to be at least 16 years old and have a current Pennsylvania Learners Permit.

Where do I go to take the driving lessons?

For your convenience, I Love To Drive will pick you up and drop you off after each lesson. We can also pick you up at school, activities or work.

How long are the driving lessons?

The standard lessons are two hours long but we can customize this to your needs.

How many driving lessons do I need?

That’s solely up to you, or your parents Each person is different as is their learning speed. Our instructor will give you their opinion of when you may be ready to test and drive on your own.

3rd Party Drivers Tests

All testing is done in our cars.

3rd party testing is done at our Morton location 25 Woodland Ave, Morton, PA.

After passing the test at a 3rd party testing site your permit will be stamped and you will be legal to drive immediately (you will need insurance). A picture card will be mailed to you in 2 weeks to take to the DMV to get your license with picture printed.

Do I get an insurance discount if I take driving lessons?

After six hours of lessons you do receive a Pennsylvania State DMV recognized certificate that most insurance companies accept for a discount. Discounts vary by insurance company. You may also get another discount for completing the online 30 hour program.

What safety equipment is used in the drivers ed car?

Besides the standard shoulder harness and air bags, our cars are equipped with dual controls and rear view mirror for the instructor on the passenger side.

Can I bring a friend or family member with me on my driving lessons?

Due to safety and insurance reasons, only the student and the instructor are permitted in the car during a lesson.

Do you cancel driving lessons due to bad weather?

Yes, if weather is dangerous or extreme we will advise you and may cancel your lesson. We will reschedule your lesson as soon as availability allows. If student cancels due to weather the cancellation fee will be charged.

Do I need to practice besides other than taking the lessons?

Yes, Yes, and Yes! Students under 18 must complete 65 practice hours before testing. Over 18 it isn’t a law but it is highly recommended to get as many hours behind the wheel as you can! We encourage you to practice as much as possible along with parallel parking which you will need for your test.

Do we go on the highway during lessons?

Yes, if the student is ready for highway driving. This will be determined by the instructor during the lessons. We do not guarantee highway driving if student is not ready or there are circumstances beyond our control such as weather, traffic, etc.

What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?

We require 48 hours to cancel OR reschedule an appointment. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 48 hour notice will be subject to a $75.00 fee. No Shows for appointments will be a forfeit of the lesson.


Cancellation Policy

There is a $75.00 cancellation fee when lessons are cancelled OR rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice . If you need to cancel a lesson you must either email or leave a voicemail if we don’t answer.

Please know that during busy seasons it could be a few weeks until the next availability for rescheduling.

Tests:
There is a $50.00 cancellation fee when TESTS are cancelled OR rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice . If you need to cancel a TEST you must either email or leave a voicemail if we don’t answer.

Preps:
There is a $25.00 cancellation fee when PREPS are cancelled OR rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice . If you need to cancel a PREP you must either email or leave a voicemail if we don’t answer.

Late arrivals for tests or preps:

If you are more than fifteen minutes late your test or prep may need to be rescheduled at the discretion of the testing center. A rescheduling fee will apply. Please call if running late and we will do our best to accommodate, but this is not always possible. You must have your original permit, no copies to take your test along with glasses if required and a parent or legal guardian if under 18. No exceptions.

No Shows, if we show up for your appointment and you are not there, or not able to attend, the lesson will be a forfeit, no exceptions.

Additionally

If you are late for your appointment the time of the lesson will be shortened accordingly.

Permits are required for every lesson, not having your permit will result in a forfeit of your lesson. No shows will also result in a non refundable forfeit of lesson.

Closed toe shoes are required, no flip flops.

Weather Cancellations

Cancellations due to weather are the discretion of the school. We will notify you if we need to cancel due to weather.
